I seriously got into cycling back in 2012 after watching British Cycling dominate at the Olympics. I had taster sessions at the Manchester Velodrome, attended outdoor track cycling sessions and brought my precious Boardman road bike which I still use to this day. Although these days I am more of a mountain biker, having to take six months off not exercising made me miss it so much. Now I am much stronger I am back out on the bike again, this time with a Go-Pro in tow. So I decided to film my ride.
I picked Alrewas because it is the village I travel through when I go to visit my parents and always think the countryside around there is lovely. I created a 10.7 mile route on Strava. Long enough that I get exercise but short enough that I don’t get knackered or fed up. It is flat so good if you want to practice sprints or don’t want to tackle hills. Here is the map showing the gradient.
The route is down some fast roads but there were some lovely country lanes and they were not flooded when I went down, the sun was out and it was really lovely ride, I wasn’t the only one out plenty of cyclists thought the same and were out too.
